UFC in Iraq

Even though I don’t support the war in Iraq and disagree with our policy in the Middle East I completely support the troops in Iraq and feel for them that they have to be there.

I was happy to see that the UFC sent Randy Couture, Rich Franklin and Rachelle Leah on a goodwill mission to Iraq.

It was a good read. The troops seemed very happy to get to meet and train with the UFC veterans. Apparently, the heat was around 135 degrees.. yes 135 degrees when they first arrived and hours earlier before their arrival, one of their tour sites had been partial bombed and many other stories of the conditions over in Iraq. It was also noted that it was during Randy Couture’s miliyary time in the 101st Airborne he won a wrestling tournament which caught the eye of one of the Army coaches which led to Randy being on the All-Army team for wrestling which led to his illustrious wrestling career and eventually to the sport that we all know him for.
