Ultimate Fighter 4 – Episode 7 – Drop to a Knee

Tonight is the last welterweight match-up between Pete Spratt and Matt Serra. Pete Spratt is getting his second chance after losing against Chris Lytle.

Drago came back to the house to celebrate his win over Charles McCarthy. Drago gets waaay to hammered. Its already hard enough to understand the Long Island accent but with him slurring his words, the show is has to use subtitles just to understand what he is saying.

Rich Franklin was brought in to help coach the guys which is strange since he will have to fight the winner of the middleweights. Plus he seemed hesistant to give up any of his secrets or even roll around with the guys who are still getting over their staph infection. He doesn’t seemed to be worried about the competition after watching the guys train a few different times. In his opinion they don’t seem to train hard at all. At one point, he offers Matt Serra some advice to “drop to one knee” afte touching gloves because they can’t kick you if the man is touching the mat. Serra seems like the only guy that Franklin sees as a potential threat. Din Thomas sums it best by saying, “C’mon Ritch!?!”

Charles McCarthy asked Ritch about the advice thinking that Ritch was joking but Franklin’s reaction seems like he wasn’t which is funnier. Poor Ritch.

The fight.

Serra and Spratt come out slowly sizing each other up.. throwing a few punches before Serra gets in for a takedown. Serra is able to get to half guard then full mount. Serra rains down punches as Spratt tries to defend then he turns to his stomach. Serra keeps throwing the punches while Spratt is stuck underneath. The ref stops it after a little while as Spratt basically can’t go anywhere and is getting wailed on. Serra wins by strikes.
